Galatians 6Doing Good to All1Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted. 2Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. 3If anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4Each one should test his own actions. Then he can take pride in himself, without comparing himself to somebody else, 5for each one should carry his own load. 6Anyone who receives instruction in the word must share all good things with his instructor. 7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Not Circumcision but a New Creation11See what large letters I use as I write to you with my own hand! 12Those who want to make a good impression outwardly are trying to compel you to be circumcised. The only reason they do this is to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13Not even those who are circumcised obey the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your flesh. 14May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15Neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything; what counts is a new creation. 16Peace and mercy to all who follow this rule, even to the Israel of God. 17Finally, let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.
God's promise to those who love Him and seek His will "Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him. " 1 John 5:14-15
Old Testament Prophecy: "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned." Isaiah 9:2 New Testament Fulfillment: "In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness..." John 1:4-5
A few years before our original thirteen states adopted the new constitution in 1787, Alexander Fraser Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh, had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier: "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over lousy fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average of the world’s great civilizations before they decline has been 200 years. These nations have progressed in this sequence: 'During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence: 1. from bondage to spiritual faith; 2. from spiritual faith to great courage; 3. from courage to liberty; 4. from liberty to abundance; 5. from abundance to complacency; 6. from complacency to apathy; 7. from apathy to dependence; 8. from dependence back into bondage."

Ezekiel 12: 21-29 NIV 21 The word of the LORD came to me: 22 "Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: 'The days go by and every vision comes to nothing'? 23 Say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am going to put an end to this proverb, and they will no longer quote it in Israel.' Say to them, 'The days are near when every vision will be fulfilled. 24 For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations among the people of Israel. 25 But I the LORD will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, you rebellious house, I will fulfill whatever I say, declares the Sovereign LORD.' " 26 The word of the LORD came to me: 27 "Son of man, the house of Israel is saying, 'The vision he sees is for many years from now, and he prophesies about the distant future.' 28 "Therefore say to them, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign LORD.' "
"God reigns over the nations!" (Psalms 47:8) Throughout history He used good and bad rulers to discipline and bless His people -- always lovingly calling them back to Himself. Some recognized His hand of love, accepted His wise warnings and were blessed in His loving presence. Others were blind and deaf to His truths and sovereignty. The same is true today for human nature doesn't change much. If we focus on our wonderful King, not on the human agents, He will surely use everything that happens to keep us alert, teach us His Word, strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Himself. An Old Testament king gave us a wonderful model prayer. When a "great multitude" of enemy troops threatened the freedom of God's people, Jehoshophat simply turned His eyes and heart to His faithful Lord and expressed his faith: “O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? ... O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” (2 Chronicles 20:6, 12) God answered in a wonderful way! He always does, though usually the victory is less dramatic. How blessed we are to know Him at a time such as this!
God looks for faith and obedience, not great leaders "And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore 'it was accounted to him for righteousness.'” Romans 4:19-22 "Jesus said to them, '...if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:20-21
Called by God "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Called to Total Commitment
2 Corinthians 1:10-24 (New International Version)10He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, 11as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. 12Now this is our boast: Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, in the holiness and sincerity that are from God. We have done so not according to worldly wisdom but according to God's grace. 13For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand. And I hope that, 14as you have understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus. 15Because I was confident of this, I planned to visit you first so that you might benefit twice. 16I planned to visit you on my way to Macedonia and to come back to you from Macedonia, and then to have you send me on my way to Judea. 17When I planned this, did I do it lightly? Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say, "Yes, yes" and "No, no"? 18But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not "Yes" and "No." 19For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes." 20For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ. And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. 21Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, 22set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 23I call God as my witness that it was in order to spare you that I did not return to Corinth. 24Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, because it is by faith you stand firm. Matthew 12:18 2 Corinthians 2:4-6 NIV4For I wrote you out of great distress and anguish of heart and with many tears, not to grieve you but to let you know the depth of my love for you. Forgiveness for the Sinner. 5If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you, to some extent—not to put it too severely. 6The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient for him. 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 NIV10If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, 11in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes. 2 Corinthians 3:17 (New International Version)17Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 2 Corinthians 8:8 (New International Version)8I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by comparing it with the earnestness of others. 2 Corinthians 8:10-18 (New International Version)10And here is my advice about what is best for you in this matter: Last year you were the first not only to give but also to have the desire to do so. 11Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it, according to your means. 12For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what he does not have. 13Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed, but that there might be equality. 14At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, 15as it is written: "He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little." Titus Sent to Corinth16I thank God, who put into the heart of Titus the same concern I have for you. 17For Titus not only welcomed our appeal, but he is coming to you with much enthusiasm and on his own initiative. 18And we are sending along with him the brother who is praised by all the churches for his service to the gospel. 2 Corinthians 91There is no need for me to write to you about this service to the saints. 2For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action. 3But I am sending the brothers in order that our boasting about you in this matter should not prove hollow, but that you may be ready, as I said you would be. 4For if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to say anything about you—would be ashamed of having been so confident. 5So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift, not as one grudgingly given. Sowing Generously6Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9As it is written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever."10Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. 12This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 10:12-18 (New International Version)12We do not dare to classify or compare ourselves with some who commend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are not wise. 13We, however, will not boast beyond proper limits, but will confine our boasting to the field God has assigned to us, a field that reaches even to you. 14We are not going too far in our boasting, as would be the case if we had not come to you, for we did get as far as you with the gospel of Christ. 15Neither do we go beyond our limits by boasting of work done by others.[a] Our hope is that, as your faith continues to grow, our area of activity among you will greatly expand, 16so that we can preach the gospel in the regions beyond you. For we do not want to boast about work already done in another man's territory. 17But, "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."[b] 18For it is not the one who commends himself who is approved, but the one whom the Lord commends. Psalm 17A prayer of David. 1 Hear, O LORD, my righteous plea; 2 May my vindication come from you; 3 Though you probe my heart and examine me at night, 4 As for the deeds of men— 5 My steps have held to your paths; 6 I call on you, O God, for you will answer me; 7 Show the wonder of your great love, 8 Keep me as the apple of your eye; 9 from the wicked who assail me, 10 They close up their callous hearts, 11 They have tracked me down, they now surround me, 12 They are like a lion hungry for prey, 13 Rise up, O LORD, confront them, bring them down; 14 O LORD, by your hand save me from such men, 15 And I—in righteousness I will see your face; Who is our GodPsalm 105 1 Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; 2 Sing to him, sing praise to him; 3 Glory in his holy name; 4 Look to the LORD and his strength; 5 Remember the wonders he has done, 6 O descendants of Abraham his servant, 7 He is the LORD our God; 8 He remembers his covenant forever, 9 the covenant he made with Abraham, 10 He confirmed it to Jacob as a decree, 11 "To you I will give the land of Canaan 12 When they were but few in number, 13 they wandered from nation to nation, 14 He allowed no one to oppress them; 15 "Do not touch my anointed ones; 16 He called down famine on the land 17 and he sent a man before them— 18 They bruised his feet with shackles, 19 till what he foretold came to pass, 20 The king sent and released him, 21 He made him master of his household, 22 to instruct his princes as he pleased 23 Then Israel entered Egypt; 24 The LORD made his people very fruitful; 25 whose hearts he turned to hate his people, 26 He sent Moses his servant, 27 They performed his miraculous signs among them, 28 He sent darkness and made the land dark— 29 He turned their waters into blood, 30 Their land teemed with frogs, 31 He spoke, and there came swarms of flies, 32 He turned their rain into hail, 33 he struck down their vines and fig trees 34 He spoke, and the locusts came, 35 they ate up every green thing in their land, 36 Then he struck down all the firstborn in their land, 37 He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold, 38 Egypt was glad when they left, 39 He spread out a cloud as a covering, 40 They asked, and he brought them quail 41 He opened the rock, and water gushed out; 42 For he remembered his holy promise 43 He brought out his people with rejoicing, 44 he gave them the lands of the nations, 45 that they might keep his precepts Psalm 113 (New International Version)Psalm 113 1 Praise the LORD. 2 Let the name of the LORD be praised, 3 From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, 4 The LORD is exalted over all the nations, 5 Who is like the LORD our God, 6 who stoops down to look 7 He raises the poor from the dust 8 he seats them with princes, 9 He settles the barren woman in her home Isaiah 40:Comfort for God's People 1 Comfort, comfort my people, 2 Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, 3 A voice of one calling: 4 Every valley shall be raised up, 5 And the glory of the LORD will be revealed, 6 A voice says, "Cry out." 7 The grass withers and the flowers fall, 8 The grass withers and the flowers fall, 9 You who bring good tidings to Zion, 10 See, the Sovereign LORD comes with power, 11 He tends his flock like a shepherd: 12 Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, or with the breadth of his hand marked off the heavens? Who has held the dust of the earth in a basket, or weighed the mountains on the scales and the hills in a balance? 13 Who has understood the mind [d] of the LORD, 14 Whom did the LORD consult to enlighten him, 15 Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; 16 Lebanon is not sufficient for altar fires, 17 Before him all the nations are as nothing; 18 To whom, then, will you compare God? 19 As for an idol, a craftsman casts it, 20 A man too poor to present such an offering 21 Do you not know? 22 He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, 23 He brings princes to naught 24 No sooner are they planted, 25 "To whom will you compare me? 26 Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: 27 Why do you say, O Jacob, 28 Do you not know? 29 He gives strength to the weary 30 Even youths grow tired and weary, 31 but those who hope in the LORD
